Arcadia Urgent Care was formed with the idea of improving the concept of an “Urgent Care.” Our frustrations working in the ER with long wait times, even for simple problems, helped us realize the following idea: that a properly run urgent care in our neighborhood could both serve our community and allow many patients with simple complaints, illnesses, and injuries to get care in a more timely and cost-effective manner than in the Emergency Department.

We are conveniently located upstairs in the Arcadia Towne Center at the Northwest Corner of 48th Street and Indian School Road. Click on the following aerial to view our location in more detail:

Cheri Dersam, MD

Cheri Dersam, MD grew up in Arcadia and attended Tavan and Ingleside Middle School. She went to the University of Arizona for her undergraduate studies as well as medical school. Dr. Dersam trained in emergency medicine at Texas A&M and returned to Arcadia with her three children and her husband, who is a local orthopedic surgeon. Her oldest daughter attends Hopi Elementary. She recently left the staff at Banner Thunderbird Emergency Department in order to establish Arcadia Urgent Care and work closely with her neighborhood community.
Brad Butler , MD

Brad Butler, MD is a native Arizonan, growing up here in the valley. He has lived in the Arcadia area since returning to Phoenix for his residency in emergency medicine at Maricopa Medical Center. Dr. Butler attended the University of Arizona for college and medical school, and is still very active in the UofA alumni association. He is currently a partner in the Emergency Department at Banner Thunderbird in Glendale and still works at Maricopa Medical Center part time, teaching both medical students as well as ER residents. His son goes to Ingleside Middle School and his daughter is in her last year at Hopi, where his wife is very involved in the PTA. “I am looking forward to serving our local community; as Arcadia, from the day we moved here, has certainly welcomed us with open arms.”
Ross Luther, MD MPH FACEP

Dr. Luther grew up in California and attended college and medical school at Loma Linda University. Dr Luther trained in emergency medicine and has been board certified in emergency medicine since 1991. Dr Luther is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University and at Midwestern University where he continues to teach ER Resident Physicians, PA’s, and Medical Students. Dr Luther has had an active career in emergency medicine having been a medical director in ER’s in California as well as Arizona. Dr. Luther has lived in Arcadia since 1998 with his wife and 5 children. The Luther’s children attend ASU, Xavier, Brophy, and St.Thomas Catholic School
